FROM HAROLD NELSON ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29TH, 2007
This Saturday, we go to the Falls City
Cobblestone Festival Parade. We leave the Shrine Center at 8 AM and make a pit
stop at the Hwy 2 & 75 junction at Nebr.City.
The Southeast Shrine Club always puts on a nice
Oasis after the parade.
This is our last parade before the Sportsman's
Giveaway, so please plan to go and let's have some fun.

FROM HAROLD NELSON ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 15TH, 2007
This coming Saturday will include 2 parades: Blue Springs &
Milford. We leave the Shrine Center at 7:30 AM for Blue Springs, which is the
next door neighbor to Wymore, south of Beatrice. We will be helping Blue
Springs celebrate their 150th anniversary.
We will return to Lincoln and leave again for Milford at
2:00 o'clock that afternoon. Milford is always a nice parade. We usually stage
from the north side of the High School building.
Please make plans to attend one or both of these parades.

(O) = Oasis after parade # - Includes rest stop enroute to parade
FROM GARY HAHN ON JULY 17th,2007 There will be an oasis following the Ashland,
Saturday, July 21st. THE FAIRBURY PARADE OASIS ON JULY 4TH, 2007,
FOLLOWING THE PARADE, WILL BE HELD AT THE FROM HAROLD NELSON ON THURSDAY, MAY 31ST, 2007
Mike, Brian and I will be taking the white van and
calliope to Norfolk this coming Saturday for the Northeast Shrine Club's
Shrine Circus.
George will be in charge of the parade vehicles/floats
for the Wymore (10:30 AM) and Eagle (3:00) Parades.
Wymore is south of Beatrice and Eagle is East of
Lincoln. We have a Shrine Patient (Talon) from Palmyra volunteering to ride
the Hospital float in the Eagle parade.Let's try to make sure he meets a lot
of Shriners from the Directors Staff before the parade.
Departure time for the Wymore Parade is 7:30 AM and
includes half an hour pause at Aunt Mary's Truck Stop on the north side of
Beatrice for breakfast (or brunch). Should get to Wymore easily (through Blue
Springs, then south to the Wymore Park) the required 1 hour before parade
time.
My best guess is after the Wymore Parade, everyone will
return to the Shrine Center and then leave again for Eagle about 1:15 PM. We
are staging in the Eagle Elementary School parking lot. Hugs might be going to
the Eagle Parade, he tells me.
My thinking is that you can go to one parade or the
other or both. But Please (!!!), we need to support these parades, especially
when a Shrine Patient is joining us, and win the 1st Place Parade Attendance
Award this Fall. You know, "Always a bridesmaid and never a Bride" applies
here.

I very good friend sent this to me (Hugs the Clown) and
I am passing it on to you. Maybe you need this certificate later, or maybe
now.

you, Harold and Hugs To be Announced as new information is available 2007 PARADE SCHEDULE
Updated June 25th, 2007
From Harold Nelson on Wednesday, September 27th, 2006
Gary asked me to send this Email to remind all
of you about our Waffleman Fundraiser this coming Friday evening, Sept 29th, 5
to 7 PM, at the Shrine Center.
If you can come early to help set up, it would
be very much appreciated. Otherwise, if you work that day, come as soon as you
can.
If you have any un-sold tickets, please bring
them with you. If you have sold additional tickets, please turn in the money
when you get there. And by all means, keep selling tickets between now and
then or tell your friends they can buy tickets at the door. Children 4 & under
eat free.
See you there.

This coming Saturday is our final parade for the season.
It is the Norfolk Lions Club's Lavitsef Parade and it is a large parade. It
begins at 10 AM and we are requested to be there by 9 AM. Therefore we will be
leaving the Shrine Center at or a bit before 6:30 AM.
At minimum, I would like to see the 3 vans and floats
taken to the parade. If we have enough members going, we can also take the
Cushman scooter. We are entry #76 which puts us in the front half of the
parade.
Please let me know by return email by Friday evening if
you plan to go with the Directors Staff. Otherwise, my answering machine is
on, as well. (I don't want to load up the Cushman and pickup if no one is
going to drive it).
Harold Nelson From Harold Nelson on Thursday, September 14th, 2006
This coming Saturday is our next-to-last parade for this
year for Sesostris Shrine and the Directors Staff.
The Nebraska City Applejack parade starts at 1 PM. We
need to be leaving the Shrine Center at 11 AM. This is very good parade and
Tangiers Shrine, as well as the Applejack Parade Committee, has shared an
invitation with us to attend. An Oasis will follow the parade at the Eagles
Club.
If you plan to drive, I can use some help. Please come
at 10 AM so we can get the vans gassed and washed before we hook up the floats
to leave.
The last parade for the season on Saturday, Sep 23rd, is
the Norfolk Lavista parade in (obviously) Norfolk NE. We need to be there by
9 AM and with the customary pit-stop in David City, we should be leaving the
Shrine Center by 6:30 AM.
This is a long drive, but at least for the last 2 years,
the Lavista Parade Committee has treated us very well. I intend to at least
take the hospital float and would appreciate someone taking the calliope, as
well. Please think about it and let me know.

I've been thinking about the Milford parade next Saturday
and I know I scheduled us to leave from the Shrine Center at 2:00 o'clock in
the afternoon. What I would really like to do is leave one hour earlier than
that (at 1:00 PM).
I'd like to take that extra hour before we have to stage
for the parade to park the Gun Raffle pickup somewhere downtown with the sign
boards up and sell Gun Raffle tickets. I still have almost 2 books of tickets
I have not sold yet. Also, I'm thinking about getting a couple more books of
tickets from our newly-elected Asst. Rabban Mark Kinzie tomorrow in case some
of you guys want to help (just so we don't run out).
If you think you can help sell tickets Saturday, or if you
want to remain and depart at the regular time (2:00 PM) please let me know by
return Email. Hugs the Clown may not want to leave earlier either and will
want to go with someone at the regular time (2:00 PM). Also, Dean Walton is
expecting to go to the parade and will need to be picked up at his house prior
to departure.
In addition, we still have bottled water and Sunkist Orange
Soda to sell and that's just about all profit for the Directors Staff. If we
have enough guys going, I will take the Cushman and trailer, too.
Thank you in advance
Harold Nelson From Harold Nelson on Tuesday 7/24/2006 Below is the latest updated parade schedule. 2 parades have been added.
Would you like to go to the Hickman Parade this
coming Saturday? Let me know please.
Don't know yet if we will have a Shrine Patient
for the hospital float. Mary Anne will let me know if we do. If so, then by
all means we will need someone to drive that van and float.
And the Gun Raffle truck can pull the calliope if
need be. I'm pretty sure Don Zanders (Shrine Bowl Club) will take the football
float. That should make a pretty good showing for the Directors Staff.
Harold Nelson Sesostris Shrine Parade Schedule for 2006 Directors Staff * - Full Support Parade # - Added since last Email list
From Harold Nelson on Friday 7/14/2006 Dear Brother Nobles, Here is the Parade Schedule for the rest of this summer. Western has always been a very nice parade. Dont miss it. We really need to get more vehicles and floats to these parades. I still need one of you to confirm you will drive the Cushman Scooter in the Shrine Bowl Parade. Theres a good chance Schuyler (Labor Day, Sep 4th) will be added later. We are still waiting From Harold Nelson on Friday 7/09/2006 Below is the current Parade Schedule for the remainder of this summer. It will be updated if any more parades are added later. Please try to be at the Shrine Center at least 15 minutes before departure time. In estimating travel times, I did not allow much time for unscheduled stops. (The Falls City trip includes a short pit stop at Nebraska City.) Sesostris Shrine Parade Schedule for 2006 Directors Staff * - Full Support Parade
From Harold Nelson on Friday 7/07/2006
Sorry I'm a bit late with this week's parade reminder. The
Alltel DSL system was offline all over the state this morning or I would have
mailed out the weekly parade reminder then.
We have 3 parades this weekend starting Friday evening in
Ceresco. Oasis afterwards and Fireworks Show much later.
Saturday, we will travel to Sterling (south of Bennet),
then from there directly to Diller (southwest of Beatrice. (No invites to
David City or Geneva this year that I'm aware of.)
Please come to the Shrine Center at least 15 minutes prior
to departure times. That way, if we don't have enough drivers, we can put any
unmanned vehicles/floats back in the building and still leave for the
respective parade on time.
Let me know this evening if you plan to go to Ceresco.

Dear Brother Nobles,
As many of you know, I had the opportunity to attend
both the Columbus and Norfolk Circus's recently. It was a lot of fun and a
wonderful, rewarding experience for me.
I was even more delighted to see that the Pawnee Shrine
Club in Columbus featured me as the top photo on their Pawnee Shrine Circus
webpage on the Grand Lodge of Nebraska website. Click to
See my photo here.
I expect many of you will say that I never looked
better. (Notice the gleam in my left eye.
Harold Nelson From Harold Nelson on Tuesday 6/27/2006 We have 6 parades on the schedule this coming weekend. However, it is unlikely we will make the Tecumseh parade because it is too far away from the Columbus parade, time-wise, and Columbus always has an excellent Oasis afterward.
The Columbus parade is designated a Full Support
Parade, which means we should all try to attend. This year the Columbus Oasis
will be held at the Masonic Temple in the northwest end of town (one block off
of Hwy 81 north of the Cenex gas station) instead of at the lake house. Let's
show our support for our Brother Nobles in the Pawnee Shrine Club.
This year we will try to attend the Hebron parade
with at least one of our floats. I'm told it can work. By my calculations, it
should only take 1 hour 15 minutes to get to Seward from there (I hope), so we
should be able to attend all 3 parades on the 4th. We can discuss that at the
Fairbury parade.
Below is this weekend's schedule. Please note the
departure times. We will not be returning to Lincoln between parades on the
4th.
Any questions or comments? Please Email me. And please let me know you are going.

I forgot to include in this parade
announcement that we also have a parade in North Bend on Sunday. We will be
leaving the Shrine Center at 12 Noon..
I don't know if we have a Shrine
patient or not.
Also heard from Henry Schultz
regarding his back surgery. He will be off work for the next 4-6 weeks and his
surgeon currently has him restricted to no more than half-an-hour vehicle
rides. So, he will not be parading with us for a while. Let's pray for Henry a
speedy recovery.
Harold
This coming Saturday morning is the Weeping Water
parade. We had a Shrine patient scheduled to ride the hospital float, but the
patient had to cancel. We will be leaving the Shrine Center at 8:00 AM.
Saturday afternoon is the Cortland parade. We do have a
patient scheduled to ride the hospital float. We will be leaving the Shrine
Center for Cortland at 2:30 PM.
Please try to be at the Shrine Center at least 15
minutes before departure time for each parade if you plan to go.
Thanks and I hope you can attend one or both of these
parades.
