These Philosophical Degrees impart that the noblest purposes and duties of man in life are to struggle, overcome, and win mastery over the material and sensual, to reach the spiritual and divine within himself. A mans faith belongs to him alone as part of the world he makes for himself. Masonry believes that there is one God and he breathes in man the breath of life that man can do good or evil and is responsible for his own actions. There is in him God's harmony, beauty, and equilibrium.
