NEBRASKA GRAND YORK RITE ANNUAL SESSION 2007 Nebraska Grand York Rite Annual Session will be held on April 18th, 19th, 20th, & 21st, 2007, at the New World Inn, Columbus, Nebraska. On Wednesday, April 18th, 2007, All Past Grand High Priests plan on attending the Grand High Priests' Dinner at 6:30 P.M. In the evening, a meeting of Sir Galahad Priory K.Y.C.H. will also be held. The Order of High Priesthood and the Order of the Silver Trowel will be given in the afternoon. On Thursday, April 19th, 2007, the "Nails" Breakfast will begin at 7:00 A.M. and Grand Council will open at 8:00 A.M. Grand Chapter, Grand Council, And Grand Commandery Officers Elect dinner will commence at 6:30 P.M. On Friday, April 20th, 2007, Grand Chapter will open at 8:00 A.M. and the Formal Grand York Rite Banquet will begin at 6:30 P.M. On Saturday, April 21st, 2007, the Red Cross of Constantine Breakfast will begin at 7:00 A.M. The Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Nebraska will open at 8:00 A.M. and at 6:30 P.M. the Past Commanders' Banquet will commence at 6:30 P.M. YORK RITE DEGREE SPRING CONFERRAL 2007 On Saturday, March 31st, 2007, The York Rite Degrees will be given on a One-Day Conferral at the Masonic Center in Hastings, Nebraska commencing at 8:00 A.M. Be there at 7:30 for rolls & coffee. YORK RITE DEGREE CONFERRAL FALL 2007 On Saturday, October 6th, 2007, The York Rite Degrees will be given on a One-Day Conferral at the Masonic Temple, 1635 L Street in Lincoln, Nebraska commencing at 7:30 A.M. Be there at 7:15 for rolls & coffee. (Further Information to follow).
This from Crete Lodge #37 Secretary W. B. Jerald Pomajzl: On January 9th, 2006, the officers of Crete Lodge #37 were installed at a special meeting held at the lodge. It also represents that this is the beginning of 134 years that Crete Lodge #37 has served Masonry in Crete, Nebraska. Crete Lodge officers will begin proficiency examinations in the three degrees for a Grand Lodge Certificate. This will be our 73rd year of perfect proficiency examinations. We would appreciate every lodge brother who can to help in this endeavor. We have received notification from the Grand Lodge that three of our Brothers will receive their 50 and 60 year pins. On July 5th,2005, Crete Lodge had the honor and pleasure of presenting a 60 year membership pin to Bro. Robert Burdick of Lincoln and a 50 year membership pin to Bro. Henry Misle of Lincoln at a dinner meeting. A 50 year membership pin was sent to Bro. Gene Rhynalds of Denver, Colorado who could not attend this evening. We are sorry to report the death of the following member: Crete Lodge is sorry to report the death of Bro. Hubert E. Filley of Cornersville, Tennessee of March 3oth, 2005. Bro. Filley was principal of the Crete Public Schools in the 1950's. W. B. Jerald would also like to remind our brothers if you haven't paid your 2006 dues to get them in to him also to get in any address changes to keep your secretary updated. He also says that Blue Lodge Dues are still at $20.00 and may be mailed to Gerald J. Pomajzl, Secretary, 1964 County Road C, Crete, Nebraska, 68333. If your a member of Mt. Zion Chapter #17 R.A.M. and your dues are for 2006 are not paid, you can mail them to Excellent Companion Jerry Bespalec, Secretary, 1140 Grove Street, Crete, Ne. 68333 Crete Lodge #37 received its 73rd year of perfect proficiency examinations in December 2005. The 2006 officers are practicing now for the 74th year of proficiency. Crete Lodge is very proud to have accomplished this honor. SOUTH SHRINE FOOTBALL BARBEQUE Crete Lodge #37 cordially invites all members, ladies, and guests to the 46th annual South Shrine Football BBQ that will be held at Tuxedo Park in West Crete on Friday, July 14th, 2006 at 6:15 p.m. The Barbecue will be one-half chicken with all the trimmings prepared by Crete Lodge members. Tickets are $7.00 each and must be paid for in advance. Your tickets will be waiting for you at the Bargecue. Mail checks to Jerald J. Pomajzl, Secretary, 1964 County Road C, Crete, Nebraska 68333. Pomajzl, Secretary THIS REPORT FROM JERALD POMAJZL, SECRETARY WORSHIPFUL BROTHER FRANKLIN MILLS RECEIVES A 50 YR. PIN At a free dinner of Pork Chops, Sauer Kraut, and Green Bean Casserole, on Monday, July 3rd, 2006, Worshipful Brother Franklin H. Mills was honored by being presented with his Grand Lodge 50 Year Pin by Worshipful Brother Jerry Bespalec of Crete Lodge #37. W. B. Mills joined Evening Star Lodge #49 in Sutton in the spring of 1956, and transferred to Crete Lodge in the spring of 1964. He served as Worshipful Master in 1970 and has been our organist almost every year to the present. He taught school in Crete for several years and then moved to Lincoln to continue his teaching until he retired a few years ago. His family and some of his members of Evening Star and Crete Lodge and their ladies was there to honor him. Other members of Crete Lodge receiving Grand Lodge Membership Pins earlier were Bro. Larry Kropp, a 50 year pin in 2004, Bro, Henry Misle and Bro. Gene Rhynalds, in 2005, and a 60 yr. pin to Robert Burdick. Crete Lodge is hoping that you will be able to join us for the South Team Barbecue on July 14th, 2006 at Tuxedo Park at 6:15 p.m. Keep in mind that this helps Crete Lodge to provide tickets to about 50 football players and coaches. We always can use extra help in the afternoon from 3:00 till dinnertime to help set up. Our 2006 Grand Master Scott Krieger and his wife Tammy from Hastings, Nebraska will be our guests. We are sorry to report the death of W. B. Carl Boden on April 26th, 2006. Brother Boden served Crete Lodge as Worshipful Master in 1973. He served as Tiler for many years including 2006. Masonic Funeral Service was conducted for Bro. Carl by the officers of Crete Lodge with W. B. Jerry Rittenberg PGM, giving the Funeral Oration. Dues: If your 2006 dues to Crete Lodge are not paid as yet, get them in to Gerald Pomajzl, Lodge Secretary, as soon as you can. Crete Lodge is very proud to have received its 74th consecutive year of Proficiency from Nebraska Grand Lodge in April. The officers did a fine job opening and closing lodge, and doing the three degrees. Congratulations to all who helped. Johnson, SS Gary McFarland, JS - Kenneth Parks, Tiler - Roger Miner, Chaplain - Dwayne Theasmeyer, Marshall - Jerald Pomajzl, Organist - Franklin Mills. The Installing Officer was W.B. Jerry Bespalec, and Installing Marshall was Bro. Michael Foster. The 2007 Trustees are Bros David Johnson, Jerry Bespalec, and Rick Wienke. Dues - One of the duties of being secretary is collecting dues. Grand Lodge has changed the dates for all membership dues to be paid. 2008 Dues will have to be paid in full by April 30th, 2008. If a bright colored slip is enclosed your 2007 dues of $20.00 are due. Crete Lodge #37 received its 74th year of perfect proficiency examination in April of 2006. In 2007 they will have received their 75th year of perfect proficiency. Crete Lodge is very proud of this accomplishment. Crete Lodge is proud of its three new members. Bro. Christopher Johnson (son of Bro. David Johnson), Bro Brad Kalkwarf, and Bro. James Moore. We are very sorry to report the death of Bro. Edward Fauss in June of 2006. We are sending a 60 year pin to Bro. Ben Mariska of Aurora, Co. Bro Mariska is the Brother-in-law of Bro. Francl Krebs. Crete Lodge will be presenting a 50-year membership pin to your Secretary Bro. Jerald Pomajzl on June 8th, 2007, at the Masonic Hall beginning with a 6:30 p.m. free dinner. Bro. Pomajzl has also been secretary of Crete Lodge for 40 years this year 2007. The 149th Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Nebraska On Thursday, February 2nd, Friday, February 3rd, & Saturday, February 4th, 2006, Most Worshipful Ivan Vrtiska will gavel the 149th Annual Communication of the Most Worshipful, The Grand Lodge, A:.F:. & A:.M:. of Nebraska to order. This year, the Grand Lodge will be held at the Holiday Inn in Kearney, Nebraska. Make your reservations directly to the Holiday Inn Convention Center/Wingate Hotel, 110 Second Ave. Kearney, Ne. 68848, (800)248-4460. A Grand Lodge Hospitality Room (176) and a Masonic Family Unity Hospitality Area will be set up. On Thursday, February 2nd, 2006, this years events begin with a Secretaries Lunch and Workshop at a 12:00 Noon luncheon. Then a meeting with the Grand Lodge Secretary R.W.B. Bruce Watkins and the Grand Lodge Office Staff will begin at 1:00 p.m. That Thursday evening the Grand Master and his Lady's Banquet will take place with a Social at 6:00 p.m.. and the Banquet beginning at 7;00 p.m. Grand Master Ivan and his Lady Karen will host the festivities and will recognize all visiting Grand Lodge Officers and other dignitaries. Entertainment will be enjoyed by everyone. Dress will be Black Tie and Jewel for the Grand Lodge Officers and Tux or Business Suit with Jewel for men and personal preference for the ladies. On Friday, February 3rd, 2006, a complimentary breakfast buffet will be available for all dignitaries and their guests between 6:30 and 8:00 a.m. Members of the Red Cross of Constantine will enjoy Breakfast in the Board Room dining room at 7:00 a.m. All dignitaries will assemble in the Ballroom at 8:00 a.m. The Informal Public Opening will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Ballroom. All Masons, spouses, and guests are encouraged to attend. Most Worshipful Ivan and his Lady Karen, will be receiving dignitaries from all of Masonry and others. Grand Lodge will open at 10:30 a.m. following the Public Opening in the Ballroom. The Grand Lodge will be opened by Shiloh Lodge #327, Omaha in the presence of attending brethren. After calling off, the Men's Luncheon will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will be held in Ballroom 1, Veterans Freemasons lunch at 12:30 p.m. in Room A. The Ladies Luncheon and Program (with Eunice Levisay with her collection of antique valentines) will be held in Ballroom 2 at 11:30 a.m. Luncheon tickets are $12.00 per person. The Men's Workshop will begin at 1:30 in Loper Hall and continue to 4:30 P.M. Workshop topics include Masonic Charities, Mentoring, and per capita Grand Lodge Q&A. The Grand Lodge Banquet will commence with a Social at 6:00 p.m. in the West Lobby, and the Banquet at 7:00 p.m. in the Ballroom @ $22.00 per person. Join Brother Masons, spouses, and guests for the membership banquet celebration. Entertainment will feature the New Shrine Video and a special entertainer. Dress will be Black Tie and Jewel for the Grand Lodge Officers and Tux or Business Suit with Jewel for men and personal preference for the ladies. On Saturday, February 4th, 2006, the day will start with the Masonic Education Committee Breakfast at 7:00 a.m. in the Ballroom. There is always an excellent program planned for that time by the committee. This years theme is entitled "In search of the secrets of Masonry".The cost of the Breakfast is $12.00 per person. Then Grand Lodge resumes at 8:30 a.m. in Loper Hall when Grand Lodge is called from refreshment to labor and the completion of Grand Lodge Business. At 9:00 a.m., a brunch will be available for the ladies having tickets. The brunch will take place in Room DE at $10.00 per person. If you prefer not to have lunch, please join the ladies for coffee and conversation and a presentation by Noah's Assistance Dogs while the men finish lodge business. Travel attire is appropriate.
