SESOSTRIS MOTOR CORP BUGEATERS OFFICERS FOR 2005
BRIEF HISTORY FROM INCEPTION IN 1975 TO 2005
HONDA SHADOW 750 DRILL TEAM KAWASAKI 440 DRILL TEAM
The Sesostris Motor Corps 400's was first mentioned in a special meeting in 1971. Harvey Gates was elected Captain of the Motor Corps and at that meeting some members expressed a desire to go to larger machines. Jim Mulder was elected Captain of the Motor Corps (both the Cushmans and th Kawasakis) in 1975. After their first test came in Central States in Wichita, Kansas, they won first place in competition and high point in all classes. The Kawasaki 400's was established as a separate unit in 1978 with Charles Otoupalik as Captain. The current Kawasaki 440 LTD models were purchased in 1981, and have served the unit very well. They are currently being used for parades and competition. In 2002, some members expressed an interest to upgrade to the new Honda Shadow 750's and seven machines were purchased individually. This started a new group called the Honda Shadows. It was felt among the members that the 440's were getting older and could not be replaced, that the Hondas could be incorporated into the unit. Therefore, a new name for the unit was voted into the bylaws. The new name for the unit was to be the Bug Eaters, after the first name of the Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Team. This new team is open to all motorcycles of Asian Manufacture. We have been practicing as separate units or together as the riders and machines will permit. The active members of the Sesostris Bug Eaters Motor Corps are Captain Jay Sinkule, Treasurer Troy Susie, Secretary Roger Miner, Jim Allen, Mike Clary, Don Gasparetti, George Green, Gary Kunkee, Wes Lamberson, Manny Luff, George Mack, Michael Munson, Scott Niederhaus, Rich Rimel, Jr., John Roseberry, Robert Sides, Richard Vosteen, Robert White, Jeff Douglas, Jim Turner, B.J. Bruhn, Brandon Gettert, & Gene Brownson. The Motor Corps has participated in CSSA Competition nearly every year since 1975. We have placed as follows: High Overall Points: First Place - 4 times. Rollie Johnson Trophy: - 4 times, Drill Competition: First Place - 12 times, Second Place - 5 times, and Third Place - 3 times. Obstacle Course: First Place - 15 times, second place - 3 times. Four Imperial Sessions. We would like to dedicate this history to Charles Otoupalik who was a charter member and mentor to this organization who passed away in 2004. He is missed by everyone. The officers and committee chairs for 2007 are as follows: Captain Jim "JIMBO" Turner Secretary Roger Miner Treasurer Brandon Gettert Drill Captain Jay Sinkule Drill Captain……………………………...Troy Susie Onion Chairman Jay Sinkule Membership Don Gasparetti Circus Plaques Roger Miner Gun Raffle Jim Turner Shrine Bowl Jim Turner Working together we’ll make this a good year. Our help and support are needed at the following events: Jim D Turner, Captain SHRINE BOWL: The shrine bowl is raising funds this year by selling calendars. The calendars sell for $25.00 each and our unit gets $5.00 back for each calendar sold. The buyer has a chance to win anywhere from $25.00 to $1000.00 in drawings to be held starting January 15, 2007. I checked out 20 calendars, If you want to help with this program, please let me know and I will check out calendars to you. Call me at 467-4001 PARADES: This year I would like to see more Bugeaters on bikes at parades. We all have families and they should come first. What better way to spend time with them than to bring your family to watch the parade and then check out the other activities? Most parades are in conjunction with some kind of city event. Make sure you get your insurance cards turned in as soon as possible. The first parade is in April. COMPETITION: For CSSA competition, let’s try to have enough riders for two drill teams. If you are interested in competing, let our Drill Captain, Jay or Troy, know so he can make plans, 2007 DUE’S: Its getting close to that time again where we should be thinking of getting your 2007 due’s turned in. Dues are $25.00 BYLAWS CHANGE: Turned in to the Shrine office, waiting for approval from the top. Will keep you informed.
REMINDER If you plan to attend parades and competition, you must get a copy of your insurance card turned in to the Shrine office. No card means no parades or competition!! The next meeting will be held November 13 at 7:00 P.M. at the Shrine Center. Let’s have a good turn out. Ride Safe, FROM NOBLE Don Gasparetti on October 24th, 2006 I have a few comments regarding the recent News Letter: From Captain Jim on Tuesday, July 25th, 2006 Greetings. FROM NOBLE Don Gasparetti on September 12th, 2006 Well somehow he managed to survive
the night. PLEASE KEEP NOBLE DON AND FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS. FROM NOBLE BOB SIDES ON August 29th, 2006
Good day Nobles,
just a quick note.
1. To riders, don't forget to take a white shirt for the parade. I will
be taking both short and long sleeve. Would prefer the short sleeve but am
open to which ever.
2. To all, I spoke last night with a friend who moved to St. Charles
several years ago and still commutes back and forth about once a month. He
had just gotten home from Lincoln at the time we talked. His route
recommendation is 36 east out of St. Joseph to Hannibal and then south on 61
to I-70. Said he did it in 6.5 hours yesterday. I would guess that
was minimal stops and moving right along howevert MapQuest says 7 hours, 10
minutes and 430 miles to the motel. I think he said there is either 30 or 60
miles of two lane on 36 but he said this is a much more relaxing route than
taking 70 from KC to St. Louis.
Anyway, select the route you feel most comfortable with. Ride/drive safe
and we will see you there.
From Jeff Douglass on Sunday, August 27th, 2006 Here we go, on Sept. 9th 2006 at 7:30 pm there will be a

From Captain Jim on Tuesday, July 25th, 2006 OK, Lets try this again with the right dates in it. As of January 2004, a long time Sesostris Unit, the Motor Corp 400's, has changed the unit's name to encourage growth in membership. The name Bugeaters comes from the early history of the University of Nebraska Football Team who were called the 'Bugeaters'. The only requirement to become a member of this very dignified unit, is to own a motorcycle of Asian Manufacture. Already, in 2004, two new members have petitioned for membership and have been elected. Welcome to the unit John Roseberry and George Mack. With a limited number of motorcycles available, Riders for the Bugeaters are encouraged to participate in both parades and competitive drills in order to preserve possession of unit bikes. The Motor Corp 400's had a very busy year in 2003, with competitive drills at Imperial Councils in Minneapolis in July, and in Central States in early September. Two competitive teams, the Kawasaki 440's and the Honda Shadows, practiced and participated in both competitions and parades throughout the 2003 season.

Charlie & George through the paces Into the Fan Man At the beginning of 2004, we confered three honorary memberships to longtime members and supporters of the previous Sesostris Motor Corp 400's Unit. Honorary members who were recognized in February 2004 were: Robert E. White, Past Captain and long time Board Member, James W. Allen, Past Treasurer and long time member and Manny Luft, Unit Photographer and supporter. The Sesostris Motor Corp Bugeaters certainly appreciates all that these three Nobles have done to support and assist the Unit throughout the years. Congratulations on being the first of the Unit's "Honorary Members". Last October, the Motor Corp 400's lost one of their biggest and most loyal supporters. Friend, Brother, and Noble Charles Otoupalik was taken home by the black camel at the age of 81 years. Charlie last lead our drill team at the Imperial Session in Minneapolis in July and passed two weeks later. The Unit misses Charlie's leadership and knowledge.

Meetings of the Sesostris Bugeaters Motor Corp are held on the second Monday of each month at the Sesostris Shrine Center at 7:00 P.M. Come out and join us the more the merrier.
