Genesis Bennett Lodge #94 A.F.&A.M. was formed with the help and support of Beatrice Lodge #26 A.F&A.M. and that lodge provided the required endorsements. A Petition of Dispensation was applied for and accepted by the 17th Grand Master of Masons of Nebraska, M.W. Edwin F. Warren of the Most Worshipful The Grand Lodge A.F.&A.M. of Nebraska on May 5th, 1882. As the records were destroyed by fire, the exact stations that the following brethren was serving are unknown at this time. The brethren that signed the Petition of Dispension are as follows: Job J. King, John C. Smith, Daniel H. Harris, Judson E. Vanderlip, Ezekiel F. Bandy, Alfred Bratt, John P. Bratt, John A. Simpson, Job Hiatt, and Owen G. Norton. A Petition of Charter was filed with the Grand Lodge of Nebraska and granted on the 19th Day of June, 1883. The Charter was signed by the Grand Master, Edwin F. Warren, Deputy Grand Master, Samuel Hayes, Grand Senior Warden, John J. Wremple, and the Grand Junior Warden, Eben K. Long and was attested to by Francis E. White, Grand Secretary. Those brethren of Bennett Lodge #94 A.F.&A.M. signing the Petition of Charter are as follows: Alfred Bratt, John P.Bratt, John Canfield, Daniel H. Harris, Job Hiatt, Job J. King, William Nelson, Owen G. Norton, Walter M. Self, John A. Simpson, John C. Smith, James B. Taylor, and Judson E. Vanderlip. The numerical identification #94 was determined by that date that the Lodge was created on June 19th, 1883 and in sequence by that date. Thus, Bennett Lodge #94 A.F.&A.M. acquired its final and official designation. (Written by W.B. Roger W. Miner of Bennett Lodge #94 & Liberty Lodge #300 A.F.&A.M.) The lodge has seen its membership drop in the past few years but is now on the rebound. We have taken in quite a few members this year and much degree work is still to be done. W. B. Stuart Erickson has been the mainstay as he has served as Worshipful Master many times over the past several years, and is now serving the lodge as its Secretary. One of the proud moments of his life is when he presented a petition to his son and he accepted.
