Bennett Lodge #94 A.F.&A.M. was formed with the help and support of Beatrice Lodge #26 A.F&A.M. and that lodge provided the required endorsements. A Petition of Dispensation was applied for and accepted by the 17th Grand Master of Masons of Nebraska, M.W. Edwin F. Warren of the Most Worshipful The Grand Lodge A.F.&A.M. of Nebraska on May 5th, 1882. As the records were destroyed by fire, the exact stations that the following brethren was serving are unknown at this time. The brethren that signed the Petition of Dispension are as follows: Job J. King, John C. Smith, Daniel H. Harris, Judson E. Vanderlip, Ezekiel F. Bandy, Alfred Bratt, John P. Bratt, John A. Simpson, Job Hiatt, and Owen G. Norton.

A Petition of Charter was filed with the Grand Lodge of Nebraska and granted on the 19th Day of June, 1883. The Charter was signed by the Grand Master, Edwin F. Warren,  Deputy Grand Master, Samuel Hayes, Grand Senior Warden, John J. Wremple, and the Grand Junior Warden, Eben K. Long and was attested to by Francis E. White, Grand Secretary.

Those brethren of Bennett Lodge #94 A.F.&A.M. signing the Petition of Charter are as follows: Alfred Bratt, John P.Bratt, John Canfield, Daniel H. Harris, Job Hiatt, Job J. King, William Nelson, Owen G. Norton, Walter M. Self, John A. Simpson, John C. Smith, James B. Taylor, and Judson E. Vanderlip.

The numerical identification #94 was determined by that date that the Lodge was created on June 19th, 1883 and in sequence by that date. Thus, Bennett Lodge #94 A.F.&A.M. acquired its final and official designation.

 To  Everyone Who Knew Her:

Coye Carter, Wife of Sir Knight. Edwin Carter, KYCH, Past Comander of Mount Moriah Commandery #4, Illustrious Master of Lincoln Council #4, High Priest of Lincoln Chapter #6, and Worshipful Master of Bennett Lodge #94, Passed away on Friday, December 9th, 2005. Funeral Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday, December 13th at 2:00 for Coye.

I can remember back, about four years ago, when Coye and Ed  would not miss a meeting of York Rite. Ed would attend the business meetings of York Rite and Coye who was a member of the Social Order of the Beauscent would attend hers, both always participating in our Pot Lucks. They would never miss a Grand York Rite Annual Session.

This from Dona Hurst; At one time earlier in her life, she was a strong member of Campfire. She also enjoyed going with Ed in his camper and spending much time camping with their many camp organizations in which they belonged. As she once put it, " she enjoyed seeing the world".

Coye will be missed by the many who new her.

(Edwin is also a dual member of Liberty Lodge #300).

On Tuesday, September 28th, 2004, Bennett Lodge #94 celebrated its  honored Past Master's Night by presenting two long overdue 25 year pins to two of its most faithful Past Masters, W.B. Kieth Herbster, and W.B. Stuart Erickson.

W.B. Kieth Herbster has been a member of Bennett Lodge for 34 years and has seen a number of changes in the Lodge over the years. The lodge has seen its membership drop in the past few years but is now on the rebound. We have taken in quite a few members this year and much degree work is still to be done.

W. B. Stuart Erickson has been the mainstay as he has served as Worshipful Master many times over the past several years, and is now serving the lodge as its Secretary. One of the proud moments of his life is when he presented a petition to his son and he accepted.

Bennett Lodge #94 was proud to honor these two brethren tonight by presenting them with their 25 year pin. The presentation was made by the Worshipful Master of Bennett Lodge #94, W. M. Richard Harris.
